Midland Festival Ballet presents Petite Paquita, a vibrant mixed-level recital inspired by the classic ballet Paquita and the spirited music of Ludwig Minkus. This showcase celebrates the joy of dancing to music we truly love—music with rhythm, flair, and energy that resonates with dancers of all ages. Minkus’s score, with its Spanish influences and dynamic tempo, offers the perfect backdrop for our students to explore traditional ballet technique infused with character and style.
We chose Paquita not only for its musical appeal but also for its rich history. Drawing inspiration from classical ballets allows us to share timeless stories and choreography with our students, their families, and friends. For our advanced dancers, it’s a chance to engage with repertoire still performed by professional companies around the world—an essential part of their artistic growth. Petite Paquita promises to be a celebration of tradition, passion, and the joy of movement.
