Ms. Clark joined Milwaukee Ballet as a principal dancer in 1990. The dual roles of Odette/Odile in Swan Lake, Princess Aurora in Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella in Cinderella are among her most notable roles she has performed in her career. Upon retiring from performances in 1996, Ms. Clark became Ballet Mistress with Milwaukee Ballet.
Prior to 1990, she was a principal dancer with Atlanta Ballet, danced with the Ballet Repertory Company in New York City, danced with Twyla Tharp in the film version of Hair, and was a prizewinner in the 1987 International Dance Competition in Osaka, Japan.
Clark received her formal training with William-Martin Viscount in Fort Worth and the National Academy of Dance in Champaign, Illinois.
Ms. Clark co-directed Ballet Midland with Anthony Ferro and continues to be a sought after guest ballet instructor for Milwaukee Ballet and other companies throughout the country. Clark has cultivated many relationships in the dance world and continues to mentor young dancers.
Judy Coleman, Founding Director, began her ballet training in Midland with Georgia Goss Harston. She received a BA from Texas Christian University with a double major in Ballet and Theater. Ms. Coleman enjoyed a professional career in New York City, dancing in the Radio City Music Hall corps de ballet. She was also a member of The Pumpernickel Players, presenting children's stories choreographed for dance to schools in the New York City area and also performed in musicals performed by touring stock companies.
She worked with Carola Trier, a first generation instructor in the Pilates method of exercises for strengthening and flexibility specializing in dance injuries. Ms. Coleman has trained instructors and taught Ms. Trier’s method in New York City and Barcelona, Spain
Returning to Midland in 1984, Ms. Coleman became a member of Ballet Midland. She opened her ballet school, Coleman Academy, in 1991. In 1993 Ms. Coleman formed Midland Festival Ballet as a non-profit dance company. She has choreographed for musical productions in Midland and Odessa and also directed a liturgical dance group.
