Midland Festival Ballet (MFB) will perform its 16th annual production of Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker” on Saturday, December 12, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, December 13, at 2:30 p.m. in the Lee High School Auditorium.
Midland Festival Ballet - Founded by Judy Coleman for the purpose of promoting dance in the Permian Basin, Midland Festival Ballet is now in its 16th season. The mission of Midland Festival Ballet is to:
- Develop skills and expand the artistic potential of ballet & young dancers.
- To provide quality ballet and dance performance opportunities for them.
- Expand public appreciation of classical ballet as a part of our community.
The Ballet Company has grown to be able to present "The Nutcracker" with the Midland Odessa Symphony and Chorale, a Fairy Tale Festival in Feburary and the Spring Gala.
Midland Festival Ballet also does outreach into the community with performances at Septemberfest and Celebration of the Arts.
Guest artists from major ballet companies such as The Joffrey Ballet, Houston Ballet, Birmingham Royal Ballet of England, and Milwaukee Ballet perform with Midland Festival Ballet in "The Nutcracker" and Spring Gala performances. Midland Festival Ballet is a member of Regional Dance America/Southwest, and was named an Honor Company.
